DESDE 1997 • ESTABLISHED IN 1997

From a Small Bakery to a Full Table

Our story began in 1997 with a small bakery, a warm oven, and a passion for preserving the authentic baking traditions of Guatemala. In those early days, we focused on making fresh, golden pan dulce every morning for our neighbors.

Thanks to the love, loyalty, and support of our community, our dream grew. Over time, we expanded from that cozy bakery counter into a full-service Guatemalan bakery and restaurant (Panadería y Restaurante). Today, our guests can sit down with family to enjoy an expanded menu of traditional home-cooked breakfasts, rich stews, and savory favorites alongside our signature baked goods.

TRADICIÓN Y SABOR • ANCESTRAL TRADITION

Honoring the Taste of Home (Sabor a Casa)

At El Quetzal, we believe that food is more than nourishment—it is a bridge to our roots, our culture, and our cherished memories of Guatemala.

Our Guatemalan sweet breads (pan dulce) are baked fresh every single day following the time-tested recipes passed down by our ancestors (las recetas de nuestros antepasados). From crisp champurradas made for dipping in hot coffee to soft shecas, conchas, and savory chuchitos, every bite brings back the authentic warmth of home.
